Als einer der most wanted DJ-Cuts der letzten Jahrzehnte im HipHop-Bereich, steht WORD! für die gesprochene "Wahrheit" und das was es ist - das Wort.
Mit der WORD! cypher wollen wir allen Leipziger Freestyle-Akrobaten wieder ein Podium bieten: Sich mit anderen zu messen, ohne dabei die Messer zu wetzen - frei von sexistischen, homophoben oder rassistischen Statements. Damit soll sich der Abend in regelmäßigen Abständen an das EndOfTheWeak™ (EOW), ein aus New York stammendes und mittlerweile weltweites Movement, anlehnen.
Neben dem Host BAZEL, werden die DJs SENSE & DERBYSTARR die Beats getreu dem Motto "two turntables and a mic" im gemütlichen Ambiente des Islands drehen. Wir laden euch ein zum offenen Wortaustausch am Mikrofon, um neue musikalische Kontakte zu knüpfen oder einfach nur zum zu hören. Wort drauf!
