Sub.island präsentiert diesmal den wohl größten Überflieger in 2008, Joker. Geadelt mit Releases auf Kode 9`s Hyperdub, Pinch`s Tectonic & Earwax und seinem eigenem Label Kapsize hat er sich mit seinem unverkennbarem Grimey-, Synthie-, Wonky-whatever-Sounds innerhalb kürzester Zeit in die oberste Etage zeitgenössischer Bassmusik gespielt.
„His music is bold and forthcoming, bass heavy, intricately melodic, and well-structured. I would say his sound is somewhere between Roll Deep`s productions, Low Deep, the Neptunes, and Super Mario Cart! He is very obviously influenced by computer game music but he still manages to evoke a strong sense of emotion.“

Mary Anne Hobbes hat ihn neben Gaslampkiller und Martyn auch auf ihre diesjährige BBC 1xtra-Bühne auf dem Sonar eingeladen und bei ihrem weltweit übertragenen Generation Bass-Broadcast in den legendären Maida Vale Studios sorgte er zusammen mit MC Nomad für Furore und hatte mit Abstand die meisten Zuschauer.
Zur Zeit arbeitet er an einem Album und man munkelt sogar über bevorstehende Kollabos mit namhaften amerikanischen HipHop-Artists, wie Pinch 2007 schon vorhersah: „I could honestly see him being snapped up by big players in the music industry in years to come, composing/remixing tracks for pop artists and all sorts.“
Unterstützung kommt diesmal von Ridick und MC Inja, die mit ihrer Dubwars-Reihe Heilbronn und Mannheim unsicher machen, sowie Porpoise, welche auf dem HW-Massive-Open Air sowas von überzeugt hat, dass sie einstimmig wieder eingeladen wurde.
